A. Emphasize the cantillation signs (trope) in the blessing before the Haftarah, it makes learning easier and helps the reading as well.
B. Utilize the melodic patterns that repeat themselves to teach the blessings after the Haftarah

בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ מֶלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם אֲשֶׁר בָּחַר בִּנְבִיאִים טוֹבִים וְרָצָה בְּדִבְרֵיהֶם הַנֶּאֱמָרִים בֶּאֱמֶת. בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יְהֹוָה הַבּוֹחֵר בַּתוֹרָה וּבְמֹשֶׁה עַבְדּוֹ וּבְיִשְׂרָאֵל עַמּוֹ וּבִנְבִיאֵי הָאֱמֶת וְהַצֶּדֶק.

The blessings following the Haftarah

There are three melodic patterns that are repeated in the blessings.
You will see that they are marked in different colors.

1. Have the student listen to and repeat the melodic patterns. :

An “opening” pattern (yellow)

A “closing” pattern (pink)

A pattern for the words ברוך אתה ה’ (turquoise)

Have the student listen to how ברוך אתה ה’ and the closing words are connected.

2. Listen to each blessing and repeat it. The text and melody are to the right

בָּרוּךְ
אַתָּה אֲדֹנָי אֱלֹהֵינוּ מֶלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם, צוּר כָּל הָעוֹלָמִים, צַדִּיק בְּכָל הַדּוֹרוֹת הָאֵל הַנֶּאֱמָן, הָאוֹמֵר וְעוֹשֶׂה, הַמְדַבֵּר וּמְקַיֵּם,
שֶׁכָּל דְּבָרָיו אֱמֶת וָצֶדֶק.


נֶאֱמָן

אַתָּה הוּא אָדֹנָי אֱלֹהֵינוּ וְנֶאֱמָנִים דְּבָרֶיךָ וְדָבָר אֶחָד מִדְּבָרֶיךָ אָחוֹר לֹא יָשׁוּב רֵיקָם כִּי אֵל מֶלֶךְ נֶאֱמָן וְרַחֲמָן אָתָּה

שַׂמְּחֵנוּ

אֲדֹנָי אֱלֹהֵינוּ בְּאֵלִיָּהוּ הַנָּבִיא עַבְדֶּךָ וּבְמַלְכוּת בֵּית דָּוִד מְשִׁיחֶךָ בִּמְהֵרָה יָבוֹא וְיָגֵל לִבֵּנוֹ, עַל כִּסְאוֹ לֹא יֵשֶׁב זָר וְלֹא יִנְחֲלוּ עוֹד אֲחֵרִים אֶת כְּבוֹדוֹ כִּי בְשֵׁם קָדְשְׁךָ נִשְׁבַּעְתָּ לוֹ שֶׁלֹּא יִכְבֶּה נֵרוֹ לְעוֹלָם וָעֶד.


בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה אֲדֹנָי


מָגֵן דָּוִד.

 


עַל הַתּוֹרָה וְעַל הָעֲבוֹדָה

וְעַל הַנְּבִיאִים וְעַל יוֹם הַשַּׁבָּת הַזֶּה שֶׁנָּתַתָּ לָּנוּ אֲדֹנָי אֱלֹהֵינוּ לִקְדֻשָּׁה וְלִמְנוּחָה,

לְכָבוֹד וּלְתִפְאָרֶת


עַל הַכֹּל,

אֲדֹנָי אֱלֹהֵינוּ, אֲנַחְנוּ מוֹדִים לָךְ וּמְבָרְכִים אוֹתָךְ, יִתְבָּרַךְ שִׁמְךָ בְּפִי כָּל חַי תָּמִיד לְעוֹלָם וָעֶד.
