The Torah blessings

All those who are called up to the Torah, recite a blessing before and after the Torah is read.
When a bar/bat mitzvah youngster is called up for the “Maftir” Aliyah, they, too recite these same blessings. The section that is read as the “Maftir” portion, is usually a repetition of the last verses of the portion of the week (the last verses of the 7th Aliyah)

בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה ה’ אֱלוֹהֵינוּ מֶלֶךְ הָּעוֹלָּם אֲשֶר בָּחַר בָּנוּ מִכָּל הָּעַמִים, וְנָּתַן לָּנוּ אֶת תוֹרָּתוֹ.בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה ה’ נוֹתֵן הַתוֹרָּה .
