Teaching the Torah blessings

All those who are called up to the Torah, recite a blessing before and after the Torah is read.
When a bar/bat mitzvah youngster is called up for the “Maftir” Aliyah, they too recite these same blessings. The section that is read as the “Maftir” portion, is usually a repetition of the last verses of the portion of the week (the last verses of the 7th Aliyah).
