Kol Kore is an interactive learning platform run by the Masorti Movement in Israel, created by members of Kehillat Hod VeHadar in Kfar Saba. The site is designed for anyone who wishes to read from the Torah or the Haftarah—children, teens, and adults alike—as well as for those who want to pass that knowledge on to others.
Whether you are preparing to read from the Torah for a Bar or Bat Mitzvah, teaching in a school or community setting, or simply looking to reconnect with Jewish texts, Kol Kore invites you to learn at your own pace, in a way that is clear, accessible, and meaningful.
For Learners:
On the site, you’ll find detailed guides and interactive practice tools for reading from the Torah, the Haftarah, and the Maftir—for every weekly Torah portion, as well as for holidays and special occasions.
Alongside clear instructional videos, the site also offers downloadable learning materials and audio recordings, including trope, the blessings recited before and after the Torah reading, and recorded examples by experienced readers.
The site also makes it easy to search for a Torah portion by birth date, allowing each teen to find their personal reading and prepare for it step by step.
The site also includes a dedicated professional portal for teachers, featuring teaching methods and pedagogical tools developed over many years by Suzy Dvoskin, z”l.
Within the portal, teachers will find instructional videos, structured lesson plans, printable practice materials, guidance for working with students with special needs, and practical tips for making Torah reading an egalitarian, accessible, and meaningful experience for learners of all ages.
The Kol Kore website was created out of the worldview of Masorti (Conservative) Judaism—a Judaism that bridges tradition and contemporary life, Halakhah and equality, and the individual voice with communal responsibility.
At its core is the belief that reading from the Torah, prayer, and leading Jewish ritual belong to all of us – women and men alike. When women also read, pray, and lead, tradition expands, the public voice becomes more balanced, and the entire community is strengthened. This is a living, breathing Judaism that makes room for every voice and invites the full participation of every person.
The learning method behind the site was developed by Suzy Dvoskin (z”l), a dedicated Torah and community educator who guided generations of students on their path toward accurate and meaningful Torah reading.
The site is built around a series of instructional videos and recordings by Suzy and her students, which together form a mosaic of voices reflecting the spirit of Kol Koreh: everyone has a voice, and every voice deserves to be heard.
The Kol Kore website was established in 2015 by Rabbi Yehudit Adelman-Green, Suzi Dvoskin z”l, and Dr. Gila Vogel — long-standing members of the Hod VeHadar community in Kfar Saba.
Members of the community volunteered wholeheartedly, contributing their time and skills to recordings, teaching, development, and maintenance.
The site was also made possible thanks to the generosity of donors from the Masorti Movement in Israel and abroad, who believed in the importance of making Torah reading accessible to all and part of the shared Jewish experience. Join our supporters and help keep this project thriving.
